The Story of the Book

It has been said that necessity is the mother of invention, and that is the story behind The Las Vegas Limited Edition Casino Chip Collectors Book. One of the owners of the company - an avid poker player and Las Vegas fan - had been collecting chips from various tournaments and casinos over the last 20 years. On each trip or tournament, he would slip his last chip into his pocket and as a "tradition" never left with nothing in his pocket. Occassionally he would buy some special, limited edition chips issued by some casinos to mark an event, concert or anniversary. Looking back, he did not realize that some of the chips he collected would become part of the myth and magic of Las vegas. He had chips from the Dunes, the Stardust and the Desert Inn. As the collection grew, the drawer where he kept the chips started to get heavy -- and as proud as he was of his enormous collection of casino chips, he really had no way to show them off. He went shopping for a book in which to display his chips and found that such an album did not exist.

Being an astute business man, he saw an opportunity and began asking questions and making observations. After 3 years of scientific and not-so-scientific research, he found that hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people are collecting chips. Dealers are selling chips on a daily basis to a collectors. Hundreds of chips are for sale on ebay. Chip collectors even have an annual convention attracting over 3000 people each year in Las Vegas.
